Conor & Cam: You both have been terrific to work with and I feel you always have my best interests at heart. Your constant support both on and off the field has been tremendous, whether you are at my games, finding endorsements or helping me navigate the trade process. My only regret is not signing with you sooner! I know too well the importance of finding the correct agent and I’m proud to call you my agents!
As a player coming out of college and not having any exposure to how the business of professional sports works, I must say I’m very lucky that I signed with Cameron. He helped me through the process of selecting the best fit team and has gotten my foot in the door with various endorsements. Cam and I have built a strong business relationship alongside a personal friendship. This is very important to me because I need my agent to be someone I can trust. He’s been everything I can ask for and more. He has educated me and taken the off field stresses off my shoulders. He even traveled to come help me negotiate my first car purchase. He keeps an optimistic mindset but also has enough experience and knowledge to know what is realistic and not give false hope. If you end up signing with Cam you will not be disappointed.
Since my first conversation with Conor I could tell that he and the Dynamic Sports Group were going to help me achieve my goals. Throughout the signing process they have proven that their clients’ interests are their top priority. They have helped my family and I with anything and everything throughout this process, and I am excited to be joining their family of athletes. I can’t wait to keep working with Conor and keep representing Dynamic in my professional career.
Dynamic Sports Group has given me everything I could ever need to succeed; both on and off the field. They helped me maximize my time in the NFL, and now I am blessed to help athletes alongside them.
I’m so happy to be part of the Dynamic family and wouldn’t want to be with anyone else. They have gone above and beyond for me and my career. I’m very grateful to have them on my side as I navigate professional baseball.
Being in the position of needing to select a sports advisor/agent is an honor as well as an enviable position for a scholar athlete. My son and I found ourselves fortunate enough to be in that very situation during his junior season leading into the 2018 MLB Draft. While this was more of a hope than an expectation, he worked his butt off and earned that opportunity. However, this left us somewhat overwhelmed and in completely unchartered territory. You get handed business cards and field calls, all while the athlete’s focus should be in one place . . . on the field.
Cameron Weiss first contacted my son in the summer of 2017 after watching him play in the Cape Cod league. My son directed him to me so he could keep his focus where it needed to be . . . again, off season workouts and on the field. As the season got underway, we received interest from a handful of folks and that interest grew as the season progressed. We had decided we didn’t want to make any snap decisions, be methodical about the decision, and hear out those we had a distinct interest in as a potential advisor.
We had three key components when making our evaluations:
- Baseball knowledge, not necessarily an ex-player, but more importantly knowledge of the baseball “system”. The draft, contracts, arbitration and all the little nuances in between.
- Legal and Financial background.
- This may be listed third but was perhaps the most important on our list. That “gut feel” and comfort factor of knowing you picked the right person. That person you know will not only represent you best, but also be there when needed.
Cameron Weiss checked all those boxes and beyond. Stepping back to our first conversation shortly after the Cape season ended, my call with Cameron was an “education session.” Cameron took the time to educate me on what to expect throughout the season and into the draft. He didn’t try to “sell” me. He provided me an education into the process in an open conversation. Of course, he provided his background, but again, it wasn’t an ill-timed “sell job”. During the season while other companies and individuals went in for the close, Cameron allowed us to enjoy my son’s last season on the field. Sure, he checked in from time to time, but those were really simply progress conversations, updates and just talking about the season and some best estimates where my son stood relative to the draft. Keep in mind, never a guarantee, because nobody really knows until draft day and Cameron refused to set unrealistic expectations just to get our business. In the end, when it came down to a decision between two people, I let Cameron know I wanted to be able to meet whoever was going to represent my son in person. That said, a week later he was on a flight cross country, staying 45 minutes away from campus due to Graduation weekend just to be able to sit down with us face to face. Cameron had already checked the first two boxes and after that meeting he had checked the third. My son and I literally looked at each other and at the same time and said . . .” That’s our guy!” Since signing with Cameron we couldn’t be more impressed with his professionalism, communication, and ability to keep us educated and informed all along the journey.
While we signed with Cameron under a different company name, there was no doubt in our minds that we would follow him in his new endeavor. Like we told Cameron when he informed us of the new company, we signed with a person we trust, are comfortable with, and want to grow with. We have since gotten to know others under the Dynamic brand, including Conor Gilligan, and are equally impressed.
